Topaz
Each topaz color has its own rules. Imperial, blue plus yellow are judged separately.
What to look for
Color
Red is under half a percent of the finds. Imperial topaz is highly prized plus very rare.
Clarity
Blue topaz is almost always eye clean. Rarer colors can show more.
Cut
Found in every shape, from ovals to designer fantasy cuts.
Carat
Blue topaz costs little more in large sizes. Rare colors climb fast.
