What to look for
Color
Graded D to Z against masterstones. Closer to D means more colorless.
Clarity
Based on the inclusions plus blemishes seen under 10x magnification.
Cut
Proportions, symmetry plus polish decide the brightness, fire plus sparkle.
Carat
One carat is 0.20 grams. Only one in 1,000 diamonds weighs more than a carat.
